Olivo Barbieri
Olivo Barbieri's spectacular ten panel 22 foot photograph "Shanghai, China" will be featured in the Museum of Contemporary Photography, Chicago's upcoming exhibition Reversed Images: Representations of Shanghai and Its Contemporary Material Culture on view September 25 - December 23, 2009.
The piece was previously seen at the grand opening of CIFO Miami in 2005. Curator Edna Moshenson has selected Barbieri's film site specific_SHANGHAI 04 for inclusion in ARTLV09, the international art component of Tel Aviv-Yafo's Centennial celebrations. The exhibition opens September 9, 2009 and features 30 leading contemporary Israeli and International artists.
Barbieri's photographs were also included in the exhibiiton Rereading the Image: Photography, a Storage of Meaning at the Prague Biennial, Czech Republic, May 14 - July 26, 2009.
